UPSIDE DOWN

Here we stand in the stillness of night.
All I can see is your face.
Darkness is clouding my mind.
Don’t turn away from this; give us more time.

We’re upside down.
We’re upside down.
We’re upside down.
Maybe we can change.
Maybe we can change.

You had hopes of a perfect goodbye.
All I can see is your tears.
Intention is clouding your mind.
Let’s try again baby; give us more time.

We’re upside down.
We’re upside down.
We’re upside down.
Maybe we can change.
Maybe we can change.

Here take my hand.
Let hope set us free.
If love takes a stand,
Soon we won’t be…

Upside down,
Like we’re upside down.
We’re upside down.
Baby we can change.
Baby we can change.

Baby we can . . . change.

STEADY HEARTS

Heavy feet stand on the floor.
While your bags sit by the door.
Pick them up, take a step.
Beyond the weight, there’s more.

Broken ribs from crushing falls,
Breaking through your callous walls.
Tear them down, take a step.
Beyond the calm, she calls.

Steady on though your mind is racing.
Steady on though your eyes deceive.
In your heart know the pain you’re facing
Will fly when you release.
Steady hearts believe.

Hear the sirens of the night,
Crying out for you to hide.
Steel your mind, take a step.
Beyond the past, there’s light.

Steady on though your mind is racing.
Steady on though your eyes deceive.
In your heart know the pain you’re facing
Will fly when you release.
Steady hearts believe.

And brace yourself when all courage comes undone.
You’re breaking ground with every step.
You will see that all battles can be won.
She gives peace with every breath.

Steady on though your mind is racing.
Steady on though your eyes deceive.
In your heart know the pain you’re facing
Will fly when you release.
Steady hearts believe.
Steady hearts believe.

By weaving together powerful film scores, this arrangement showcases some phenomenal music from inspired composers. The six minute medley was performed and arranged in a 7-hour period on a rainy Saturday. Since cinematic music is written with images in mind, footage from the films was included to give a visual reference for the scores. The video is dedicated to all Jason’s piano teachers (listed at the end).

Featuring melodies by:
Dario Marianelli (Atonement and Pride & Prejudice)
Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings)
Ennio Morricone (The Legend of 1900)
James Dooley (Pushing Daisies)
